Inclement Weather:
Updates on nursery opening hours will be posted here should we experience any further inclement weather.
January
We are talking about all the treats that Santa brought us, drawing pictures of them and showing them to our friends during show and tell sessions.
The Pelican children have started PE lessons twice a week and are enjoying the challenges of moving their bodies in different ways.
We are going to be looking after some Moth Eggs (Samia Cynthia). We will be watching them grow into caterpillars, then cocoons and finally moths with a wing span of 4 - 5 inches. We are looking forward to the development process and can look closely at them with the microscopes and draw and paint pictures of what we see.
Chinese New Year is on 23rd January and we will be making lanterns, dragons and tasting different chinese food. As it is the year of The Dragon we will be talking about mythical beasts and using our imaginations to tell stories and create models and pictures of different creatures.
February
We will be making special treats for our loved ones for Valentines Day, decorating and making hearts, learning about caring for others and what different things we like and what makes us happy.
March
With the beginning of Spring we will be digging over our growing plots, planting different seeds making sure that we care for them by watering them and making sure they have plenty of light.
April
We will be having Easter egg hunts for all the children and their families exploring the garden searching for Easter treasure. There will be lots of Easter themed activities for all to join in with and we will be holding our annual Easter Bonnet competion and parading our creations for all our friends to see.
We will continue to care for the vegetables, fruit and flowers we have planted and use the cameras to record their growth, measuring any roots and shoots and recording our findings.
