At Pelican Place Nursery we pride ourselves on developing and maintaining strong and positive relationships with parents and carers. Children and their families are of utmost importance to us and time is taken to ensure that everyone is made to feel welcome and safe within the nursery with inductions and settling in sessions.
As parents/carers you know your child the most and through sharing information we can form strong links between the nursery and home to get the best outcomes for your child. Parents/carers are welcome at anytime to look through their child’s individual learning stories, to discuss progress and/or concerns either informally each day or by appointment.
We like to invite parents/carers into the nursery to engage in a wide range of activities with the children including cooking, modeling, arts & crafts, sharing with the children aspects of the their work and different cultures and languages.
Our environment is exciting and provides ample opportunity for stimulating activity and discovery primarily based around the interests of children. We have a large all weather garden that is accessible to all children every day. The garden is used as an extension of the indoor learning environment. Activities are carried out outside based on children’s interests while time for discovery, exploration, planning their journeys and devising partnerships and plans is encouraged.
